GitHub Docs

Installation & Updates

Lex is local-first and ships with several hundred MB of offline runtime data (Bibles, lexicons, cross-references, creeds). The most reliable path is a full Git checkout.

Full Git Install (recommended)

git clone https://github.com/elcafe7/lex.git
cd lex
./setup.sh

npm Launcher (one-liner)

npm install -g @n8te_/lex-cli

Downloads the matching release on first run, verifies checksum, and sets up Python venv.

Stay Up to Date

Update code + dependencies, or refresh runtime data only.

git pull && ./setup.sh
lex update

(data-only; does not overwrite local code changes)
