Privacy Policy
Effective October 24, 2026
Apocalypse Press is a publishing ministry of Jesus People SF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We don’t have accounts, we don’t sell anything on this site, and we don’t sell your information. Here is what actually runs when you visit apocalypse.press.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-0M3SF90ZGN) to see which pages and books people read, with Google Signals, advertising features and Google Ads links turned off. When a page loads, Google Analytics records things like:
- the page you viewed, the page that sent you here, and roughly how long you stayed;
- your browser, device type, operating system, screen size and language;
- your approximate location (country, region or city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses;
- some actions on the page, such as scrolling, clicks on links to other sites, file downloads and site searches. In Verse, the passage you search for and clicks to Amazon, Substack, donation pages or YouTube are also sent as events.
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_0M3SF90ZGN. They hold a random ID so repeat visits can be counted, and they last up to two years. We use these reports only to understand readership. We don’t use them for advertising, and we don’t try to identify individual visitors. Our Google Analytics data-retention setting is two months. This setting limits how long Google keeps visitor-level and event-level data for our account. Summary reports (totals such as page views) aren’t affected by this setting and are kept longer.
To opt out: install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, block or clear cookies for apocalypse.press in your browser settings, or use a content blocker or private-browsing mode that blocks analytics. The site works the same either way. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Cloudflare
All traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare, which protects it against attacks and abuse. To do that, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details, and it may receive network-error reports from your browser. It also adds a small script that checks for automated bots, and it may set short-lived security cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance) or occasionally show a browser check. Cloudflare’s email protection hides email addresses on our pages from spam robots and reveals them with a short script in your browser.
We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script Cloudflare adds to our pages to count visits and measure how quickly pages load. It doesn’t use cookies or other browser storage, and Cloudflare says it doesn’t track people across other websites. It records which page you visited, the site that sent you here, your browser, operating system, device type and country. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Our web server and tools
Our web host, Namecheap, keeps standard access logs (IP address, the page requested including any search terms in its address, time and browser) for up to two months, then deletes them. Searches made on Verse and Geneva search appear in those logs and are deleted on the same schedule. When you use Verse or the Lex terminal, the passage or command you type may be sent to a server we run so it can look up the text. We don’t link these requests to any identity.
Most pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google’s font servers receive your IP address and browser details when the fonts download.
Settings saved on your device
Word, Verse, Lex and our book readers remember a few choices, such as light or dark mode, text size, your default Bible version and your place in Word. These are saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device and are not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
Links to other sites
We link to other services that have their own privacy policies, including:
- Amazon, where our print and Kindle books are sold. This site itself doesn’t sell anything, so Amazon handles those purchases under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your payment or card details. Our Amazon links are Amazon Associates affiliate links (tag
paradisereg01-20). As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you click one of these links, Amazon may set or read its own cookies in your browser to credit the referral, and Amazon (and advertisers on Amazon) may collect information directly from you under Amazon’s Privacy Notice. We don’t receive your name or any details that identify you; Amazon only reports which items were ordered through our links. You can manage Amazon’s cookies and ad choices in your Amazon settings or browser. - archive.org (Internet Archive), where some of our books are also available.
- YouTube, GitHub, Substack (our newsletter, The Apocalypse Times), Charity Navigator and our ministry sites jesuspeoplesf.com and opendeadsea.org.
Donations
We don’t take payments on this site. The donate page sends you to outside services that process your gift: Stripe (card payments), Strike (bitcoin), Ko-fi (the “Buy Me A Coffee” button) and YouTube. Your payment details go to those services, not to us. We receive only the information each service gives us to process your gift and send you a receipt, and we use it only for that and for our donation records. We keep donation records for as long as tax law requires (generally up to seven years). Each service has its own privacy policy: Stripe, Strike, Ko-fi and YouTube (Google).
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
- We don’t run advertising or ad-tracking on this site.
- Apart from Google (Analytics and Fonts) and Cloudflare as described above, we don’t allow other companies to collect personal information about your activity on this site over time and across other websites.
- We don’t have user accounts, comments or sign-up forms on apocalypse.press.
- The only mailing list is our newsletter, The Apocalypse Times, which is run on Substack. If you subscribe, Substack handles your email address under its own privacy policy.
- This site isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
We don’t currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. The opt-out steps above work regardless.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date. To ask what information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email nate@jesuspeoplesf.com. We aim to reply within 30 days. Because we don’t identify visitors in Google Analytics, we usually hold nothing tied to you except donation records and emails you send us.
This site is run from the United States, and information about your visit is processed there.
